I've often wondered about MarlboroHello Marlboro folk, it's been a while but I'm very glad to be able to reconnect via the www. Living in California, I sometimes long for the crisp winters of my childhood in VT. Good to the that MES is still going strong -I saw that beautiful bench photo! Looking at the few photos that this sites offers, I can't say that I know anyone of you...? Anyway, I'd love to reconnect: Submitted by Silas on July 8, 2006 - 1:55pm.
Hi Allison, I was also born there, but a decade later, in 1970, and it was South Newfane, not Marlboro. I moved to Marlboro to attend Mrs. Barton, and later Mr. Coles class. Bruce Cole is one of the most important and influential people that I have met. As for years in Marlboro, it was '79 to '85. I lived on Auger Hole Road. After a year or so at BUHS, I moved to Halifax Nova Scotia. I love to visit Vermont, but the winters are too cold -and the mud season too long!! Silas, The winters are a lot longer than mud season, but they aren't that cold if you are outside enjoying them. Cross country skiing, snow shoeing, ice scating, walking down the road and carrying a day's worth of firewood in every day. These are all things that keep us warm outside. Just about all of Marlboro winter residents can do this right out their back door. You have to love it! I think you could get used to it in a hurry. Marlboro...a jewell of southern, VT, but keep that to yourself. Alan | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Hi Silas,
When were you here? I was born here in 1960, grew up here (went to MES), left for 20 years (Berkeley) and came back. Berkeley was a fun place to visit, but there's no place like home, if it's Marlboro.
